Consider Donating to My Cause: Help Support Kids Being Kids
Dear Readers-
I took this years ago when Ben and I were still dating- over 10 years ago and I'm exactly the same.
I've been known to do funny things. PERIOD.
It's kind of my thing..
A way I encourage others to live life and have FUN!
When I was a Young Life leader,
I played flag football pregnant on my knees on the beach with a whole bunch of teenagers- guys and girls- at 38 weeks.
Another time, I put my pregnant belly in a HUGE trash can to guard our "base" from filling up with water (and losing the game- who wants to do that!)
When I became the "Shimmer and Shine" (spirit/morale) committee chair for all the teachers last year,
I planned an avocado scavenger hunt for my work colleagues while dressed like an avocado.
I also wore a glittery, gaudy, gold church hat all day long to remind staff members about school events like a luncheon or a paint night.
And-
well, for my students,
I let them do "community" games at the end of the year and little laminated "centers"/ play dough activities throughout the year.
But, really, is that enough for my students in their primary years of learning?
Well, when I think of my little ones ages 5, 3, 1, and 7 months.
Play. is. their. whole. being.
It's what motivates them to be kids and enjoy actual childhood.
I. WANT. THAT. FOR. ALL. MY. STUDENTS.
I want to bring back their childhood "auras" and empower them to each rock out the FUN.
So, here is where I share my Donorschoose.org project links. Before kids, I would work a second job to fund classroom endeavors. Now, after kids, I need to be creative on how to meet needs without taking money from my OWN family.

Giving My Kids the Space to Work and Think
Bringing Play Back Into the Classroom
The first project allows me the carpet spaces to let the kids play and explore.
The second project gives me the materials to incorporate play as a recess alternative and for fine motor skills practice in preparation for handwriting.
They are both expensive projects, but I did get one match offer from Google to double any donations to support me as a minority teacher. *It's just until funds last, so I have to be timely with my funding. (Hence, this is why this post exists.)
My family basically lives off my husband's income since we have four children in childcare. It's been my dream to teach since I was five, so I want to keep trying to live the dream.
If you are still wondering what type of teacher you are supporting, please read the two notes from parents I got at the end of this school year.
I'm the teacher that advocates for kids to stay kids.
Help me reach my funding goals!
Thanks in advance.
With Love. Always,
Crystal
*If you have heart to keep on giving, see my post called
"Mo' Money to Solve Problems: The New Teacher Moms Side Hustle to Do Our Jobs."
I feature many of my deserving mom colleagues who are trying to get funded for projects as well.
Thanks again!
If you know me personally,
THIS. PICTURE. SHOULD. NOT. SURPRISE. YOU.
